A new nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening self-direction through collaboration, community, and collective action nationwide.

About the Self-Direction Center

Operating as an independent organization, we are committed to strengthening self-direction nationwide. Co-founded by Erica Andres, Molly Morris, and Brenda Vitale, our organization is building a diverse board that will represent the broader self-direction community, with at least half of the board seats to be held by people with lived experience. More to come on all we plan to accomplish!

Collaboration

We bring together stakeholders across the self-direction ecosystem to break down silos, identify common challenges, and foster the exchange of ideas.

Community

We create trusted spaces for authentic conversations and continuous learning where people can build relationships and develop collective wisdom.

Collective Action

We mobilize stakeholders to generate evidence demonstrating the value of self-direction, develop shared resources, and educate about effective self-direction.
